A Quarter Century
The formal Stable’s story began in 1986 in Lajitas, Texas, when owner Linda
Walker opened the area’s first Trail Riding Outfit outside of the Big Bend
National Park; the Lajitas Stables. The name came from the historic
river crossing and Trading Post of Lajitas, Texas, along the Rio Grande.
Developers were creating a new destination for the Big Bend travelers and
the Lajitas Stables would add professional equestrian expertise.
Linda’s previous experience in ranching and pack trips well equipped her
to start up this quarter of a century endeavor that still hosts thousands
of visitors each year in Texas and New Mexico....... Click
