Our Lajitas Stables trails are for those who have more experience in the saddle, and/or a true sense of adventure, and seek the mountaintop-on-horseback feeling. Our trails are rocky & rugged, hugging the edge of cliffs and canyons. Not for those who have a fear of heights or are nervous to ride.
Every rider is responsible for controlling their own animal and must be comfortable & confident about it going up and down the mesa.Maximum weight limit of 250lb
Minimum age 12.
3 Hour Afternoon Ride - Start time varies
Take the high road! Climb up and onto the top of Contrabando Mesa. To the South, we look across to the ruggedly wild mountains of Old Mexico.

Climb to the top of Controbando Mesa on horseback and enjoy breathtaking views all around, before dropping down into "Lunchbox Canyon" for a lovely picnic we pull out of our saddlebags.
